Instructions for photographs

We will need 5 pictures of your teeth.

To get started you need the following things:

  • 2 spoons
  • a smart phone or a camera
  • a friend or a family member

Please make sure you zoom in, have good light or use your flash for your pictures. Use the advice below as a guide.

The picture on the left is your set-up while you aim to capture as much as possible the picture on the right. After you finish with these pictures, if there is an area of particular concern that you would like us to look at, please take also a photo of that.

Please email your photos at hello@LondonLovesBraces.com and we will be in touch.

Photo #1

For the first picture, look forwards and hold the (plastic) spoons with the curved side inwards towards your teeth. Stretch your cheeks out and make sure your teeth are together while you take the picture straight at the front.

Photo #2

For the second picture you’ll need only one spoon, same orientation with a curved side of the spoon towards your teeth. Stretch your cheek to the right, turn your head slightly to the left and take the picture with the camera right next to the spoon.

Photo #3

For the third picture, similarly, you also only need one spoon, same orientation with a curved side of the spoon towards your teeth. Stretch your cheek to the left, turn your head slightly to the right and take the picture with the camera right next to the spoon.

Photo #4

The fourth picture is of your upper teeth, so all you need is to tilt your head all the way up and open wide, aiming for the biting surfaces of the upper teeth.

Photo #5

The fifth picture is of your lower teeth and you need to use your spoons again with the curved side towards the teeth. Tilt your chin down, open wide and try to get a picture of the biting surfaces of the lower teeth.
