How long does Fixed Braces treatment take?

The length of time varies from person to person because it will depend upon the complexity of each case. To give a rough guide, the majority of our patients have their braces on anywhere between 12 and 24 months. During your consultation, our Orthodontist  will be able to give you a more accurate estimate as to how long the treatment will take. This is not an exact science, and sometimes the teeth move quicker than anticipated, or slower.

How much do Fixed Braces cost?

Again, this varies from person to person as we base our prices on complexity, but prices start from £1,500*.

*Prices correct as at September 2021

Do you offer finance for Fixed Braces treatment?

Yes, we offer finance on all our Fixed Braces packages. The payment plan is incredibly flexible and allows you to decide how much deposit you wish to pay, and how long you would like the plan to last (between 12 months and 5 years).

How often will I need to come to the practice during Fixed Braces treatment?

After your braces have been fitted you will need to come into the surgery at least every 6 to 12 weeks. We are open week day evenings as well as Saturdays to help our patients fit their treatment around work and other commitments.

Is Fixed Braces treatment painful?

As with any Orthodontic treatment, a level of mild discomfort is to be expected. Any pain experienced after the brace is fitted or the bands are changed usually improves after 48 hours and can be easily managed with painkillers if required. We provide patients with Orthodontic wax, which can be used to cushion the lips if the appliance is rubbing. University research has shown that Damon Fixed Braces Technology has low mean frictional forces, which means they are less likely to cause discomfort than other orthodontic appliances.
